Hampton Lumber is a family-owned forest products business headquartered in Portland, Oregon. It employs about 1,700 people; primarily in Washington, Oregon, and British Columbia.
Great effort goes into the long-term management of our natural renewable resources. Effectively managing and strategically planning how we plant and harvest our units is critical to the success and longevity of this renewable resource. Our foresters take pride in cultivating a healthy and prosperous environment through safe management techniques that will ensure countless years of stable, sustainable forest growth across the 289,000 acres Hampton currently owns in Oregon and Washington.
Hampton Lumber’s internship program is tailored for the intern to be mentored and guided by an individual supervisor in their area of Forestry. The structure of the internship will allow interns to gain experience and take ownership of specific projects that further their education and knowledge in their respective fields while also networking with industry professionals. We continually strive to “Find A Better Way Every Day,” and safety is a part of the Hampton culture. Interns work alongside company leaders and assist with challenges essential to the workplace by working on projects that truly benefit the company.
Our forestry internships start in June and last from three to six months. Compensation is based on the candidate’s qualifications.
Our interns participate in a variety of office and field activities. They may also travel to different locations and gain experience in diverse forest stands. This broad professional exposure to working forest operations provides a solid foundation for future educational choices and career opportunities.
