Overview

Only Morton Employees may apply for this position at this time.  

 

This position’s primary function is to assist with overall forklift duties on the green side of the mill. Work schedule: Swing shift (Monday-Thursday) Wage starts at $28.92 per hour ($60,153 per year before any shift differentials, overtime and production bonuses). Production bonuses are possible for every employee each month, based on the plant site's target goals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with production flow, backloading kilns, rotating stock, and overall quality checks
  • Remove units of lumber from stacker outfeeds and transport either to kiln infeed tracks, lumber trucks, or to yard storage.
  • Place units of lumber on kiln carts according to length and dimension using proper labeling, stacking, and stickering methods to ensure quality drying.  Assist with kiln charges.
  • Follow Company lockout, safety, and work standards
  • Complete proper pre/post checks of forklift
  • Rotate breaks/lunches
  • Quality assurance - to include, but not limited to fixing units, rotating stock
  • Operate equipment in a safe manner so injury does not occur to operator or any employee in the area
  • Must be willing to work overtime as necessary

Qualifications

Must be an experienced operator or be trained by an experienced operator and hold current Hampton PIT authorization.
