Overview

This position's primary function is to be responsible for managing inventory, rotating of inventory, loading trucks, and helping the planer outfeed as needed. This job is located in the Finished- End area and is under the supervision of the Finished-End Supervisor. Work weekends, overtime and other shifts as necessary to meet the needs of the operation.  It is every person’s job to maintain the shipping/outfeed of the Planer facility to a world class standard of cleanliness and organization. 

  • Schedule: This is a fulltime position, Monday-Friday,
  • Wage is $25.77 ($53,601 annually not including overtime or production bonuses).  Ability to earn more money when you are proficient in specified tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Complete Daily Inspection Sheet prior to operating PIT
  • Understand truck loading policy and lumber stacking policy
  • Report leak(s) no matter how minor and damage to the truck shop to get them repaired before operating.
  • Maintain a clean work station, all tools and supplies used in our jobs will be stored and orderly
  • Forklift housekeeping includes but not limited to, blowing out engine compartment, washing lift, disinfecting, and removal of garbage.
  • Do other jobs that you are qualified to do
  • Be self-motivated and be a team player
  • Attention to detail and time management skills
  • Stock rotation, staging and/or plan for future loads
  • Work some weekends and overtime to meet the needs of the operation
  • Operate a Lift Truck in a safe manner

Qualifications

  • PIT certification and/or obtain certification
  • Have strong communication both verbal and written
  • Ability to work/communicate professionally with lumber carriers, vendors, and sales team
  • Good hand/eye coordination
  • Working knowledge of lumber species and product mix preferred but not required
  • Ability to identify attributes and barcodes is preferred but not required
  • Proficient in Excel and Lumbertrack is preferred but not required
