Overview

This position's primary function is to repair and maintain electric, propane, diesel, and gasoline industrial equipment. Work schedule: Monday-Friday (Swing shift) Flexible as needed. 

Wage starts at $38.17 per hour ($79,393 per year before any overtime and production bonuses). Production Bonuses are possible for every employee each month, based on the plant site's target goals. 

 

This position is critical to keeping our equipment running safely and efficiently by performing scheduled preventative maintenance tasks as well as troubleshooting any issue that may come up that interrupt our operations.  The Truck Shop Department works closely with rolling stock operators to get ahead of any issues before they cause downtime or significant equipment failure.

Responsibilities

  • Fabrication, welding, cutting, and air arcing.
  • Change tires.
  • Diagnose breakdowns, motor, hydraulic and electrical problems.
  • Repair diesel, propane, gasoline, and electrical motors.
  • Read schematics and parts diagrams.
  • Order parts.
  • Repair brake systems.
  • Keep records on equipment.
  • Follow Company lockout, safety, and work standards.
  • Must be willing to attend any training necessary to upgrade performance.
  • Operate machinery in a safe manner so injury does not occur to operator or any employee in the area.
  • Must be willing to train any employees as assigned by supervisor.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as necessary.

Qualifications

  • A Diesel Tech degree or minimum two years practical experience repairing and maintaining electric, propane, diesel, and gasoline industrial equipment.
  • Supplying tools will be required.
  • Valid Washington driver's license. 
  • Hold and maintain current Hampton PIT authorization.
  • Understanding of voltage and electrical systems.
  • 4 to 5 years experience or equivalent degree.
