Overview

The Land Development Manager will play a key role in maximizing the value of Hampton’s substantial timberland assets. This position will support the execution of a strategic land disposition program while identifying and advancing opportunities to enhance long-term revenue from retained lands. To achieve these objectives, the Land Development Manager will evaluate development potential, manage entitlement and planning processes, coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners, and oversee projects that unlock the highest and best use of Hampton’s land holdings. The role requires strong analytical, project management, and relationship-building skills to effectively balance financial performance, regulatory considerations, and sustainable land stewardship.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with Hampton’s Resources group to identify properties suitable for disposition.
  • Prepare listing packages, review and resolve title issues, and work with listing agents to market real properties.
  • Work with Hampton’s legal team to negotiate sales agreements and guide properties through closing.
  • Learn what opportunities might be available and develop working relationships with conservation partners that might be interested in timberland transactions.
  • Interface with energy developers and bring promising opportunities to the Hampton Resources and Legal teams for further exploration.
  • Identify opportunities to produce other new revenues from Hampton’s timberlands, and maximize value wherever possible.
  • Assist with other land services related to leases or environmental regulations as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred
  • Experience in real estate transactions and preferably forestry transactions, with some knowledge of business law
  • Strong professional work ethic and sense of commitment
  • Proven ability to work with minimal supervision daily
  • Able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Must be well-organized and detail-oriented
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Interpersonal relationship/team-building skills
  • Flexible work schedule due to required travel (Oregon/Washington) and periodic evening commitments
  • Service-oriented toward internal and external clients
