Why This Role Is Unique
The Tax Manager becomes immersed in the full lifecycle of Hampton Lumber U.S. operations, from timberland ownership and harvesting activities to sawmill manufacturing, wholesale distribution, exports, and international sales. The position provides broad exposure to how business transactions flow through accounting records and ultimately impact federal and state tax reporting. Candidates who enjoy understanding how businesses operate, researching transactions, and solving technical compliance challenges will find this role both dynamic and rewarding. While this is an individual contributor position, it offers significant ownership and exposure to a diverse range of tax matters across a complex organizational structure.
Job Overview
Hampton Lumber is seeking a highly motivated tax professional to support federal and state compliance across a complex organizational structure, including C Corporations, S Corporations, and international reporting requirements. This role is ideal for a high-performing, experienced tax professional who can prioritize multiple responsibilities, solve problems, stay attentive to detail, and communicate proactively. The successful candidate will partner extensively with accounting, finance, and external advisors to research transactions, resolve technical tax issues, and ensure accurate tax reporting across multiple business lines and jurisdictions.
